The FIVB Volleyball World Championship trophy was made on special order in 2014. So far just one team has won it - back-to-back 2014 and 2018 reigning world champions Poland. Weighing nine kilos, the trophy was constructed using 12 individual pieces, each representing a member of a volleyball team.
The World Championship trophy's 12 individual pieces represent the 12 players in a team. Its elegance reflects the beauty of the volleyball game. Its gradual move from nickel to gold, from its base to its crown, exemplifies the winning team growing in confidence as they work through the stages of the Championship.
